ABSTRACT
Blocks are probably the most widely accepted material for the use of children in the preschool age range. Any school that pretends to an educational philosophy includes opportunities for block-play in some form. What is more, blocks have the clear stamp of approval of the children themselves, since they use them more often than any other playthings. For these two reasons—and many more—they deserve our special attention.
