ABSTRACT
We come now to the child‘s first meaningful utterance of conventional words. When we say that the child has begun to use words in a meaningful way, we are describing this behaviour: that now in a specific situation he consistently utters a specific sound-group whose phonetic pattern is either borrowed from the adult language or influenced by its forms.
