ABSTRACT

The longing to have a baby after a miscarriage can be very intense. It is not necessarily a need to replace what has been lost but that the desire to have a child is kindled by the loss. The consequences of miscarriage can be far reaching. Although the desire for another child can come to dominate their whole life, the prospect of actually getting pregnant, and of being pregnant again, is another matter. The number and stage of their previous miscarriages, and the extent of the emotional and physical trauma you experienced, will influence this. Women are often given very confusing and conflicting advice about how long to wait before getting pregnant after a miscarriage after one normal period, give it three months, wait six months. One thing you can do is prepare themself for their next pregnancy by adopting a more healthy diet and lifestyle.
