ABSTRACT

In Polish, a sprawca is a minor hooligan, someone who has caused something to happen. When the police pick you up because you have done something, they enter you on the report as being a sprawca, a causer: someone who did something, who has made something happen that is out of the ordinary and which has consequences. A sprawca causes facts, which are then followed by other facts. If you fight someone, it is not without consequences. You are punished – and something also happens to the one you fought. There is a cause and many consequences. The actor should be someone like that: obviously not someone who is a criminal, but someone who is seeking to cause a fact which has consequences, and not someone who is just speaking the lines of a text.26
