ABSTRACT

This discussion will review some of the findings of the research conducted by Sears, Roebuck and Co. in the field of employee attitudes and morale. This research is an integral part of our company’s personnel program; its primary purpose is to assist executives in their efforts to maintain sound and mutually satisfactory employee relationships. Such relationships are conceived by our management not only as a positive good in themselves but as an essential condition for the continued economic success of the enterprise.
