ABSTRACT
Work, whether organized as an individual activity or as part of a larger whole, is still the means by which mankind wrests a living from, and gains mastery over, his environment. More than any other human activity it relates men and women to reality. It absorbs so large a part of living that it is, or should be, a major source of social and psychological satisfaction.
