To end this section on an humbling thought, it should be remembered that economic models cannot deal with some important issues. For instance, if political scientists are correct in their argument that the Saudi leadership is willing to forego profits in order to buy political stability in some of the OPEC countries and to obtain the goodwill of the United States, we will have a hard time integrating these facts in our models in anything but the crudest way.
