ABSTRACT
Meade's Hobart Paper (No. 17, London: Institute of Economic Affairs, April 1962) went into three editions. The first edition is reprinted here followed by Meade's The Common Market: Is there an Alternative? which appeared as the prologue to the second and third editions (UK, Commonwealth & Common Market: A Reappraisal, London: Institute of Economic Affairs, November 1962 and December 1970) and as a separate pamphlet in December 1962.
