ABSTRACT

Every enduring creation has a structure. The combination of arches, keystones, pillars, and buttresses in a Gothic cathedral, or of protons, neutrons, and electrons in an atom, are basic to the understanding of each of these systems. An understanding of the parts is indispensable to an understanding of the larger whole.
