ABSTRACT
The document known as the Northumberland MS is another piece of evidence, which, while properly belonging exclusively to the Baconians, has been appropriated by Dr Titherley in the interests of Derby, though in this case his piracy is more than redeemed by the valuable work he has done on the manuscript itself. Before, however, dealing with such matters, it is necessary for me to give in outline the story of this manuscript.
