ABSTRACT

The movements of prices and wages after the first half of the nineteenth century are depicted in figure 62. The graph continues on from the preceding diagrams and calculations dealing with earlier periods, the effects of nineteenth century currency changes being eliminated as far as possible (see appendix). Once more four groups are examined: wages, grain prices, the prices of animal products and those of industrial products. The groups are made up of numerous but unweighted series of individual prices and wages. 1
