Objection has been raised, and naturally enough, that the sovereign groat weighs only 421 gr instead of the normal48. It does seem to me that a forger of only moderate ability would begin by getting his weight right. I suggest that the light weight, though too light to be acceptable in a coin of normal issue, would be of no great consequence in a trial or pattern piece.
