ABSTRACT

Am I wrong, or are people sleeping in unprecedented numbers at the theater? “To sleep, perchance . . .” Of course, it depends how good the show is—but not necessarily. Not necessarily at all. In spite of the limited leg room, the theater has traditionally been a warm and cozy and plush place for a nice little nap. It’s said that the worst sound you can hear at the theater is that of polite attention. But the sound of sleep is worse. The lights go down, the curtain goes up ... Zzzzzzzz.
