ABSTRACT
August Wilson’s Seven Guitars is a great, bluesy achievement. We would feel lucky in any season to see anything to equal this chronicle of a death foretold. Lloyd Richards’s supreme production at the Walter Kerr Theater not only does the sprawling drama proud: it gives us an ensemble of seven actors, riffing brilliantly together like seven blues guitars.
