ABSTRACT
Danny Hoch’s solo Some People at the Public Theater is a fantastic breakthrough, and in many ways I’m still in shock. This twenty-three-year-old street kid, a raw, electric, fresh talent, an urban griot of New York City in tumult, is giving us a meeting place on stage that we’ve never really seen— or, more to the point—heard before.
