Methodologies for Exploring School Context
After a draft of your institutional study is completed we ask you again to share this study with others in your teacher education class. The purpose of sharing these drafts is to locate gaps that make the story difficult to follow, to clarify themes, and further articulate the perspective you bring to the institutional study. Your perspective should be apparent; there is no need to pretend to be neutral, because that is not possible. Instead, it is better to be up front with your views than to pretend yours is an "objective" account of the school. After receiving feedback, a final draft is written and shared with other preservice candidates, teacher educators, and practicing teachers.
