ABSTRACT
Durability of concrete is affected by chloride ingress and leaching. Studies done in Singapore on chloride ingress in and leaching of concrete are described in this paper. Chloride ingress in concrete was measured at two sites; the measured chlorides are found below the threshold values. Leaching is another cause of concrete deterioration and it can cause leaking of water through floor slabs. Effectiveness of different treatments to resist leaching was investigated and the treatments could be ranked according to their performance.
