Containing the Lives of Abubeker, Omar, and Othman. The immediate Successors of Mahomet. Illustrating the Religion, Rites, Customs, and manner of Living of that Warlike People. Also an Account of their most remarkable Battels, Sieges; particularly those of Aleppo, Antioch, Damascus, Alexandria, and Jerusalem. Collected from the most Authentick Arabick Authors; especially Manuscripts, not hitherto pulish'd in any European Language.' In 1708 appeared the first volume of ackley's History of the Saracens, the firstfruits of his concentrated labours at Oxford.
