ABSTRACT
Parkinson (1907) tells us that Naunians, before their island was depopulated, had a reputation for being versed in magic. They were able to calm the sea and knew how to make, and stop, rain. With the help of Wing, Naunians anticipate the return of this type of supernatural knowledge in the near future. Then, they will live forever, will not become old, and will live in affluence without having to work.
