ABSTRACT
Mathematics is a powerful tool of technology and commerce and therefore teaching this subject has always had major social implications. Developments in multicultural education have placed greater focus on the social responsibility of the mathematics teacher, for now it may be seen that the way in which mathematics is taught has a direct effect on the attitudes of all people.
