ABSTRACT
While the history of its component units spans a century, Bradford and Ilkley Community College itself was only formed in 1982 as a result of a merger between Bradford College and Ilkley College. These two institutions, independently of each other, had already gone through a series of mergers in the last ten years. In 1973 Bradford College of Art and Bradford Technical College merged to form briefly Bradford College of Art and Technology.
