A. These prices are for tabling 1 1/4 ells wide for the Maundy and occasionally for the use of the Wardrobe. I t is not specified as diaper till 1568 and a half-line is drawn in the table before this date. Comparability is broken after 1664 : purchases are at first by the yard and later, from 1763, again by the ell but for Irish diaper 8/4 ells wide. Damask (see below) was bought in 16771748.
