ABSTRACT
Once there was a man who got up from where he was sitting and made his way to the house of a certain malam, to ask him to tell his fortune. The malam threw down some earth, spread it out and said ‘Well, well – this man – your fate, I think will be a bush-cow!’ And he answered ‘Really?’ Then said the malam ‘If you hear a man reply to something said to him with “Really”, it means he is going to argue. Off with you, home! Keep your eyes open for what comes! You’ll see.’ ‘Right’ says the other and goes off home, and settles down again.
