ABSTRACT
Once Bankammi and his Wife Barrankamma built a house in a certain town and lived there. When he went to the forest he used to kill an Elephant and eat it, and if when he had carried one home, he called his Wife and said " Here Barrankamma," and gave it to her, before he could go inside, turn round, and come out again, he would find her with only the bones left. Every morning at daybreak she would grind a whole barn full of corn, and give it to him, and when he had [mixed it with water and] (1) drunk it, he would go off to the forest.
