ABSTRACT
This is about a Girl named Faddam. Now it happened that a certain Man wanted to marry her, and she loved him too, but her Parents did not like him, and her Parents' Relatives did not like him, and so they refused to give her to him. But one day, she scooped up the whole of the water of the town stream in a gourd (1), and climbed a tree, and thus everyone in the town was without water to drink. Soon People came to ask the Girl to give them water. " Who is asking? " she said. " It is your Mother," was the reply, and so she said "Oh! No, I shall not give you any."
