ABSTRACT
The Mandatory System was conceived in sin and born in iniquity. The mandatory Powers have full legislative and executive authority. The most damning charge which can be brought against the Mandatory System is the ruthless military methods which have been applied from time to time against the mandated people. Commenting upon the hypocrisy of the Mandatory System, a Japanese statesman said that “the presence of President Wilson at the Versailles Conference made it impossible to call things by their right names. The Mandatory System which has become a topic of discussion in British Liberal and Socialist circles as the modus operandi for satisfying the colonial demands of Germany and Italy. The Arabs in Iraq had as much voice in determining the disposal of their oil as the natives in Africa had in disposing of their gold, diamonds and other mineral resources.
