ABSTRACT
CAPTAIN NORTHWOOD was facing the verandah of Greenwood shortly after daylight one morning, in company with his son, discussing various plans before his departure for Borneo. Suddenly, to Johnnie’s consternation, he reeled and would have fallen to the floor, but for his son’s assistance. When he was seated in a chair it was noticed that he looked very ill indeed.
