ABSTRACT

This study aims to present a number of systems by which the identification and development of talent within Indian football might be promoted. The contribution by Bill Adams showed that there were a number of obstacles in the way of the development of young footballing talent and it began to explore engagement with football through the school system and a broad organizational base. The model suggested here is aimed at football development beyond this ‘grass-roots’ level and has as its main objective the production of elite players for the professional game and the Indian national team.
