ABSTRACT

Visual Basic is a method of programming, the process of giving instructions to the computer to perform actions automatically. However anxious one may be to explore Visual Basic, check whether Excel can perform the task one need without programming. Visual Basic is a development of the Beginner's All-Purpose Symbolic Instruction Code (BASIC) programming language developed by John G Kemeny and Thomas E Kurtz. Visual Basic is the set of tools which help one to write, edit and manage code to do this, and to offer assistance in the process. The best way to learn the process is to record a Macro, and then examine the code. The chapter presents many possible uses of Visual Basic such as extending cash flows automatically, collapsing cash flows between annual and quarterly, adding tenants to lists, and so on. The possibilities are quite literally endless. One could even build their own automatic valuation program from scratch.
