At least one law firm in the US has advertised for claimants to take pa rt in a class action lawsu it against oil companies for increa sing globa l warming and producing the cond itions that led to Hurricane Katrina . The lawsu it claims that a s torm of Katrina's magnitude w ould occur eventua lly d ue to water temperat ures in the Gulf of Mexico, and oil companies contributed to these cond itions.
