ABSTRACT
Those who earn a living from home improvement contracts may overstate the benefits of home improvements to the home-owner creating a mistaken view that money spent on residential property improvements such as extensions, loft conversions and additional leisure facilities will always be recoverable on the resale of the property. Unfortunately there is no set of rules to guide the unwary merely a number of points that should be checked before embarking on alteration and improvement works.
