chapter  8
Involving self and peers in the assessment of class participation
Pages 9

This study uses a combination of self and peer assessment in judging class participation. Criteria are individually determined by students as part of the exercise. It illustrates the use of self and peer assessment in the context of the teaching oflaw, although the basic method could be used in any subject area. A feature of this example is the use of a technique which involves rating on a self-normalising scale to avoid grade inflation.
