Self assessment activities clearly need to be designed in response to particular needs, particular circumstances and particular subject matter. There are many different practices influenced by different motives, and they emphasise different key ideas and strategies. In some practices, for example, subject-matter concepts are central; in others, transferable skills are dominant. And, as we have seen in Chapters 5 and 11, they are driven by different interests.
