ABSTRACT

This chapter reports on a workshop, the aims of which were for the participants to: First consider the evidence that the students have a very wide range of learning experiences and use a range of methods and approaches; Second considers the implications of the points raised by the students move towards more flexible teaching and learning provision. The workshop participants divided into two groups, one viewing the Arts Education and Social Sciences student's discussions, the other viewing the Business School and Technology video extracts. Hopefully each participant left the workshop with some positive personal outcomes. Four bought a copy of the video and several showed interest in making similar videos in their institutions. Certainly this video is going to valuable for the University of Plymouth and, since the conference, copies have distributed widely. Hopefully, senior management will 'listen to their students talking about their learning' and take the real student learning experience as direct future developments.
