Workshop on Assessment of Groups of Students
This chapter describes that if there are any rules when it comes to the graphic design of flexible learning materials and how can the comprehensible layout and 'feel' of materials be used to enhance student learning. In discuss the details of these design issues, participants in this workshop report were able to articulate some of their ideas about what is a good and effective design and what doesn't. By bringing these ideas together, the group was able to clarify some of the issues that need to consider when designing a house-style for flexible learning materials. The workshop highlighted some of the difficulties involved in designing flexible learning materials, and not providing clear answers. Finally the materials design was that simplicity and careful use of space, avoiding complicated structuring and overdone graphics, helps to create a clear and accessible look which should enhance student interest and confidence in the materials, and enhance learning.
