ABSTRACT

One of the prime concerns of this book has been to highlight issues that need to be taken into account by those adopting a behaviourist approach to the setting of standards and to the design and development of instructional materials and related assessment systems. This concluding chapter will concentrate on key issues that are all too often overlooked, leading to oversimplistic approaches to the setting and realization of standards and thus to unnecessary weaknesses within related instructional materials and instructional systems.
