ABSTRACT

An educational evaluation can be used to assist you, the evaluator, to determine a range of things about the learning event that is taking place or has just been completed. This chapter reviews each of the areas typically assessed during a ‘reaction’ assessment, namely the quality of the classroom environment, the teacher, the course materials, the use of media, various delivery methodologies, the administrative details and the learner's belief as to the overall effectiveness of the event. The chapter then briefly describes the development and administration of three methods of reaction evaluation.
