ABSTRACT
This book is about the complex transitions from compulsory schooling, through the period of post-adolescence, of one small cohort of young people in South London. We describe and analyse the choices and constraints which frame the identities and experiences of these young people as reported by them in a series of narrative interviews conducted over a four-year period 1995-9.
