The Nature of Man: Man As the Responsible Partner

If woman is clearly the more vulnerable gender, we would assume that man is the stronger gender. If we assume that man is the stronger gender, we also have to assume that man is more accountable. More is expected of man because more has been given to him (“and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked,” Luke 12:48b). If a man and a woman are running a race, and the woman, because of her nature is slower, then we would expect the man to win that race. So the man’s strength places him as head of the woman, but also gives him more responsibility. Remember, like Eve, Adam also ate of the fruit that God told them not to. While Eve ate the forbidden fruit first, God recounts that she was deceived by the enemy. He also reiterates this through Paul in 1 Timothy 2:14, where Paul writes:

And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.
