ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we turn to the final topic of our analysis of linguistic meaning: modification. The kinds of properties ascribed to entities and the ways that such ascription is carried out in language are perhaps the most unresearched areas in all of linguistics. We focus primarily on what we might call property concepts or adjectival concepts: those qualities that surface as adjectives or modifierlike forms.
