ABSTRACT
The GPARS system is a multilingual suite of computer-assisted language teaching programs built around Generalized Transition Network parsers. To date, most of these systems have been developed as interactive grammar checkers, but the focus of these systems is more upon assessment, diagnosis, and modeling of students' language development than upon direct student instruction.
