ABSTRACT
Europe is a place of great diversity as manifested in economic, cultural, and educational contrasts. It contains over 40 nation states, with many more languages and ethnic groupings. It has been the source of some of the world’s greatest cultural and industrial achievements, but has also provided the arena for bloody wars and barbaric behavior on an almost unimaginable scale.
