ABSTRACT
From the dawn of civilization, ancient Egyptians had their schools in the temples, where priests imparted instruction to children. The teacher's function was to produce scribes to do the clerical work of the state. Throughout the centuries that followed, it was a fact that education was used by the state as an instrument for achieving its national agenda.
