The Multiple Personality of Education In observing the past and present behavior of the educational community when engaged in refonn, one could conclude that educators are afflicted with Dissociative Identity Disorder (fonnerly Multiple Personality Disorder). The definition of this disorder in the fourth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV) of the American Psychiatric Association (1994) provides a compelling description of educational behavior when engaged in change or refonn.
