ABSTRACT
The fate of the Black woman in the American continent, like that of all her brothers of the same race, has been, since her arrival, to be a thing, an object, an instrument of production or sexual reproduction. So the Black Brazilian woman received a cruel inheritance: to be not only the object of production [as the Black man also was], but more still, to be an object of pleasure for the colonizers. The fruit of this cowardly interbreeding is that which is now acclaimed and proclaimed as "the only national product that should not be exported: the Brazilian mulatto woman." But if the quality of this "product" is said to be high, the treatment she receives is extremely degrading dirty, and disrespectful.
