ABSTRACT
Italian politician and premier, 1914-16, born at Troia in the southern Italian province of Puglia on 13 August 1853. Salandra began his career as a professor of law at the University of Rome and later headed the ministries of agriculture (1899-1900), foreign affairs, and finance (1906, 1909-10).
