ABSTRACT
Abrams, Creighton W., Jr. (1914-1974) American lieutenant colonel, commander 37th Tank Battalion. Creighton Abrams, a native of Springfield, Massachusetts, was the U.S. Army’s premier tank battalion commander in World War II. He graduated from West Point in 1936 as a cavalry officer. In March 1942, Major Abrams as sumed command of a battalion of the 37th Ar mored Regiment of the 4th Armored Division.
