ABSTRACT
Differences between the time spent on household work by women and men are well documented, and these are associated with differences in both time spent on paid labor and earnings. Rather than assuming that women should be responsible for household labor, researchers have proposed a variety of explanations for gender differences in time spent working at home and in the labor market.
