ABSTRACT
Vision Vision is the m ost w idely used hum an sensory m odality . All o ther senses defer to v ision in percep tion o f the env ironm en t, a p h en o m en o n w hich can give rise to strange illusions. For instance, w hen an air pilot is deprived o f v ision outside the cockpit in cloud o r darkness, and fails to in tegrate in fo rm ation that can be derived from instrum ents and non-v isual senses, various k inds o f d iso rien ta tion can occur.
