ABSTRACT

This paper attempts to delineate the journey of one continuing care retirement community—Pine Run Community (PRC) of Doylestown, Pennsylvania—through the cycle of differing management structures that were found useful while passing from the initial opening of the community and the move-in of its first residents to the present ongoing operation. It is believed that persons initiating such a community might find it of value to hear a predecessor's experiences in structuring the management of this rather complex, always surprising, entity.
